Dorcas Quynn
Hi, I’m Dorcas. I’ve been on a path of discovery and recovery for over 25 years. I believe wholeheartedly that we all have what we need within us and we are powerful beyond measure when we are aligned and connected. That said, being aligned and connected in any sort of sustainable manner is actually kinda tricky. Which is why most of us come to rely on external sources for our wellbeing and peace. If not careful, these habits become addictions and very quickly (or sometimes slowly) trap us in our own prison of disconnection and dis-ease.
My direct healing and life experience and my 30+ years of holistic wellness education informs my capacity to support you in tapping into your innate capacity to heal and thrive.
I feel compelled to warn you. This path is not for the faint of heart or victim of circumstance. You will have to do the work. Your healing happens within. This is not to say external support is not welcome or absolutely needed in your journey, but it cannot become a crutch. It will simply stunt your growth and keep you at arms length from the freedom you deserve.
Everything you need is within you. If you are tired of solutions failing you and are ready to lean in, this is your program. 40 days will give you a good start and you can choose to take it from there on your own, or continue to be supported.
Katie Schwartz
Hi, I’m Katie. I’ve been on a path of discovery and recovery for almost 40 years. I’m passionate about living authentically and helping people get the support they need to thrive in life. In our world, which is fast-paced and ever changing, I have come to depend on my gifts and my tools in order to live authentically and with peace in my heart. Living with intention, or mindfulness, begins with learning to love ourselves, body, mind, and spirit. Everyone can do it. We can all find freedom from whatever binds us and keeps us from growing and becoming better. I am both teacher and student. I have experienced great accomplishment and great failure. I believe in receiving support from community as well as outside entities. I practice that which nourishes me on a daily basis. You can, too, I promise.
Shelley Pentony
Shelley began practicing yoga as a child and has found ways to make it a part of her life both on and off the mat ever since. After working for 16 years providing emotional support and advocacy to victims and survivors of interpersonal violence, Shelley recognized that such a big part of healing involves learning to bear witness to, hold and tend to the place where all our trauma symptoms manifest & all the inner resources for healing reside - our body. In 2016, she took the leap to pursue teaching trauma informed yoga full time and ever since, has been bringing trauma informed practices to all types of trauma populations in her community and nationwide.
Shelley has taught over 10,000 hours of yoga, has facilitated 200 and 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings, spoken on trauma informed care and practices at International Conferences and all around the United States. She is met with the same passion and love for her work each time she steps onto her mat to teach. She holds an E-RYT 500, is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, is certified in multiple trauma informed yoga practices & modalities, works as an Oncology Yoga & Meditation Practitioner in the Integrative Clinic at the James M Stockman Cancer Institute and is also trained in teaching Yin Yoga and Yoga for Grief & Healing. Shelley has is a Lymphatic Specialist and has done extensive training in the fields of Meditation, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Shelley’s yoga practice is informed by a deep listening to the body and the more subtle aspects of yoga. She values being a student first and can often be found focusing on the biopsychosocial components of the practice so she can help others learn to self regulate in moments of challenge.
